The short version
WrenchCircle collects what it needs to connect you with car people near you, and nothing else. No ads, no selling your data, no tracking you across other apps or websites, and no payment card data — WrenchCircle doesn’t process payments.
Your account
Your email address, a password (stored by our authentication provider in hashed form, never readable by us), and the display name you choose.
Your location
Only after you tap Use My Location or type a city or ZIP. Your position is rounded to about 1 km on your phone before it is sent. Other members see an approximate area and a rounded distance — never your address. A meeting spot you share is visible only to you and the other person in that deal.
What you post
Requests, listings, offers, messages, deal details, your availability, and whether a request got you help. Requests, listings and availability are visible to members near you. Messages and offers are visible only to the two people in the conversation.
Safety records
Reports you file, members you block, and moderation decisions about your account. The person you report or block is not told it was you. We may read messages connected to a report to review it.
Stored on your phone
Settings and drafts are stored on your device. Before and after photos you take stay on your phone and are not uploaded.
Who helps us run it
Supabase hosts our database and sign-in. Our map provider (Mapbox or Google Maps) receives your map area, place searches, and IP address to draw the map. They process data only to provide those services.
Who can see what
Other members: your display name, trust level, approximate area and distance, and the requests and listings you post. Nobody else: your email, password, exact meeting spots, messages, blocks, or reports.
Deleting your data
Profile → Delete account deletes your account, profile, requests, listings, offers, messages, deal records, saved locations, blocks and reports from our database immediately. Copies may remain in encrypted backups for a short period until they are overwritten.
Age
WrenchCircle is for adults 18 and older. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes and contact
